Jaki Grill has been cooking on Gjon Nikollë Kazazi street in Gjakova since 2002. Behind a white façade with flower boxes and a barrel by the door, the room is brick, dark wood and black-and-white photographs. The menu is built around the grill: qebapa and qofte by the piece, veal and pork from the counter, and pork specialities you rarely find elsewhere in Kosovo. Guests talk about the atmosphere, the kind staff and the salads, and one regular has been coming back for at least fifteen years.

Everything starts at the open counter. The day's cuts wait in the glass case, the kitchen works in full view, and plates leave the grill with bread from the basket, roasted peppers and a board of house sauces. Order a few qebapa for the table, a veal fillet with herb butter, a Shopska salad on the side and a Jack's craft beer to go with it.

“Everything was excellent. The food's quality is unbeatable and the service is great. Do yourself a favour and eat at this restaurant.” Juan C.
“I had the grilled chicken, the Shopska salad, the Greek salad, and a beef steak. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared.” Amadeusz L., Local Guide
